Business Developer in Information Security and Data Protection
We are Varberg Municipality, the employer that sees the possibilities in you. Here you can make a difference, both for others and for yourself. We are driven by the idea of simplifying people's everyday lives and realizing their dreams. We do this with the help of knowledge, innovative courage, and a forward-thinking attitude. Welcome to contribute to our work towards our vision – to become the creative hub of the west coast.
With a well-developed and transparent community building process, the City Planning Office plays a central role in shaping the future of Varberg. Our mission is to create sustainable living environments where the city's growth and the needs of its residents meet in the best possible way.
We are located in modern activity-based premises in the newly renovated city hall together with other community-building activities, which provides good opportunities for collaboration and exchange of experiences.
About 90 employees work with us, distributed across five departments – building permits, planning, geographic information, quality and development, and the municipality's land surveying – all contributing to the development of Varberg for both today's and tomorrow's residents.
The Quality and Development Department consists of 13 people who coordinate, support, and drive the administration's quality and development work in economics, administration, communication, architecture, and IT.
You will join a team that is driven, has a high ceiling, and works together to simplify people's everyday lives and inspire them to achieve their dreams. We are a team with many different professional competencies that collaborate and complement each other. We are now looking for a business developer responsible for information security and data protection to complement our group and contribute to our quality and development work.
The position is new and organizationally placed in the City Planning Office, but the assignment also includes work for the Port and Street Management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a business developer in information security and data protection, you have overall responsibility for ensuring that the City Planning Office and the Port and Street Management conduct systematic and legal work. You are responsible for ensuring that GDPR and applicable information security requirements are met in the administrations.
You will act as the data protection coordinator in close collaboration with the municipality's data protection officer and information security functions. The role includes developing and managing governing documents, conducting impact assessments (DPIA), managing and following up on data protection incidents, and providing advisory support to management and operations.
You are responsible for ensuring that document and information management complies with applicable regulations regarding registration, archiving, retention, and quality assurance of public documents. You coordinate and develop registration and archives and drive the development and digitization of information and archive processes.
Furthermore, you support and educate employees and managers, participate in cross-functional and municipality-wide collaboration, and contribute to a secure and purposeful digitization effort. Tasks related to system management may be included in the role.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with relevant academic education in areas such as information security, law, computer science, archive and information science, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer. You have experience working with information security and/or data protection (GDPR) in a coordinating, developing, or advisory role.
You have good knowledge of GDPR and information security requirements, as well as experience in developing and managing governing documents, processes, and routines. You also have experience conducting impact assessments (DPIA) and managing data protection incidents.
It is an advantage if you have experience in public operations and knowledge of document management, registration, and archives according to applicable regulations. Experience in digitizing information and archive processes and/or system management is also advantageous.
As a person, you are structured, independent, and responsible. You are communicative and pedagogical with the ability to translate regulations into practical work and thrive in a coordinating role with many points of contact.
